Head Smart Wellbeing Ambassadors

Another programme developed by Eikon for schools is the peer led Head Smart Wellbeing Ambassadors. Our downloadable resource pack gives you everything you need to train a group of students to be Wellbeing Ambassadors within your school.

What is a Wellbeing Ambassador?

A Wellbeing Ambassador promotes wellbeing in school through education, activities, events and whole school communication. They do not offer 1-2-1 mentoring sessions with students.

How does the programme work?

In order to make Peer-led Wellbeing work in your school you need a wellbeing lead to support the team and maintain momentum. This lead will need to:

  • Deliver the training with the selected students (we recommend a max group of 35 students from Years 5-6 or Years 8-9). As part of this training facilitate the team in creating a school wellbeing plan

  • Help students identify and access resources and budgets

  • Organise regular meetings to plan.

  • Support in implementing events, activities and presentations at all levels of school life

How do I run the training for Wellbeing Ambassadors?

We recommend 2-3 hours for the training. The training covers the following:

  • Raising awareness of mental health needs and importance of personal wellbeing

  • Educate and equip with knowledge and actions to improve wellbeing

  • Teach the Five Ways to Wellbeing

  • Devise action plans to implement the Five Ways into their life

  • Create student-led strategic plans to educate and impact the whole school on wellbeing

  • Awareness and signposting pathways for support available to students in school and externally

How do I access this resource?

You can purchase the resources to run Head Smart Wellbeing Ambassadors in your school for £75.00 + VAT. This is a one off cost to the school, as once you have invested in the resources you can use them again and again. Many schools select new Wellbeing Ambassadors each year.

What do I get in the resource pack?

  • Facilitators Guide

  • Teachers Lesson Plan

  • Powerpoint Presentation

  • Printable Head Smart Student Booklet

  • Training Activities

  • Ideas and Inspiration Flyer

We recommend you order Wellbeing Ambassador badges from your usual supplier.
